Joe Colombo, “Multi Chair”

Designed by visionary Italian designer Joe Colombo in 1970, the Multichair is a modular seating system that epitomizes Colombo’s belief in adaptable living. Composed of two polyurethane foam elements connected by leather straps and chrome pins, it can transform from an armchair to a chaise longue or lounge. Minimal yet expressive, the Multichair captures the radical spirit of 1970s Italian design — functional, sculptural, and endlessly reconfigurable. This one is of a later production.
