Studio Tetrarch, “Frine” for Artemide

The Frine table lamp is a rare and iconic design piece from the late 1960s, created by Studio Tetrarch for the renowned Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide. See also: Book “Light” (Lamps 1968-1973: new Italian design) by Fulvio & Napoleone Ferrari. Phryne (Frine) was the Greek courtesan who was accused of impiety and stripped by the defender before the judges to obtain clemency.
