Wobbe Alkema, “Abstract”

A striking linoleum print by Dutch artist Wobbe Alkema, titled “Abstract.” Executed in bold black and white, the composition reflects Alkema’s mastery of geometric balance and reduction. Rooted in the Dutch Constructivist tradition, this work captures the artist’s pursuit of harmony between form, rhythm, and space — a key example of postwar abstraction in the Netherlands. Member of the artist group “De Ploeg”. With pencil-written note from his wife Dora as a gift to two people: “Martje + Rudi”.
